Hello Shelsea,
i just want to update to about Jelena’s day today. She enjoyed painting with a brush which helped in improving her fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
During lunchtime she expressed that she has a Wigley tooth and showed emotions of pain. I tried to explain that this a part of growing up and it means that is getting ready to turn Five soon. She lit up and said, “oh yes! And then I’m going to Kindergarten!” She seemed so excited and proud about it.
During our chat she also shared how much she loves eating spaghetti and salad here, but she doesn’t like to eat it at home. She explained that she feels a bit scared of ‘bugs and cockroaches’ at home and worries that they might go into her mouth when she opens her mouth to eat. She said, ‘they are not my friends’, which shows how strong she feels about it.
I acknowledged her concerns gently and let her know that she’s always safe and looked after here. It was a very open and expressive moment, And I felt it was important to pass along her feelings to you with care.
Please feel free to reach out to me if you would like to talk more about it.
